Woman dies after she catches fire in Brooklyn subway car; NYPD suspects homicide

A woman died after she was apparently lit on fire in a Brooklyn subway car, and police are investigating her death as a possible homicide, sources said.

The woman, who sources said was homeless, was approached by a man in a stationary F train at the Coney Island-Stillwell Ave. subway stop at about 7:30 a.m.

She then ignited, and the man left the scene, sources said. EMS medics responded, and the woman was pronounced dead on the subway platform.

Police have made no arrests in the case. The woman’s identity has not yet been released.
