Traitors star Amanda Lovett, from the first series of The Traitors, has revealed the key to healthy skin and it’s a moisturiser that she she has been using for years.
Sharing with host Scott McGlynn, whose Celebrity Skin Talk show has returned for its fifth series, the Welsh mum admitted she’s never a “cleanser and toner girl” but she uses moisturiser daily and the Estee Lauder DayWear Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant 24H Moisturiser is her go-to.
“I always use moisturiser since I was 16 and I always moisturise my face every day before makeup. The Estee Lauder DayWear and when I first got married, I did say, you know, money’s going to be tight, but please can I just have that? I’ll go without shoes, I’ll go without clothes…I’ll do anything, I want my little pot,” she told Scott.
It’s no surprise why Amanda loves the Estee Lauder cream so much, it’s a high performance cream that includes anti-ageing Super Anti-Oxidant Complex and broad-spectrum sunscreen to defend skin against signs of premature ageing.
Originally priced at £55 a pot, Boots has marked it down with 20% off, so it’s now £44 to grab. Ingredients such as Vitamin C & E, Hyaluronic Acid, Squalane and Glycerin contribute to locking in moisture within the skin for long-lasting hydration, which is essential in keeping your skin healthy during cold, dry weather.
96% of women who have dry skin also said their skin felt smoother and fresher instantly. One shared: “My skin has never looked better since I started using this moisturiser. Foundation glides on easily and looks fresh.”
But a shopper was not too impressed: “I do really like this cream but can’t say that it worked miracles or anything. It did what a bog standard moisturiser should do which is to moisturise the skin but thats it. I had to stop using it as I couldn’t justify the price for what it did.”
Another, however, shared: “I have sensitive skin with a lot of redness, but since using this moisturiser, the redness has gone away. My skin loves the Daywear cream.”
Other than the Estee Lauder cream, Amanda also found the Ella & Jo 3-in-1 Hyaluronic Mist, £26, good for a quick remedy for dry skin. She said: “I did Panto from end of November to the beginning of January and of course, the makeup is caked on stage, isn’t it? And there’s [strong] lights and I did find my skin drying out, so I just use that to spritz.”
The Ella & Jo mist has gained a high 4.6 out of five-star rating on Amazon and one customer enjoyed using it on the go: “It is made with some really lovely ingredients, including chamomile, aloe, vera, green tea, cucumber, and witch hazel. It is a vegan and cruelty-free product which is recyclable so it ticks a lot of boxes for me. It is simple to use as all you have to do is spray onto your skin. It is really refreshing and has a gorgeous aroma. It’s a good size to pop into your bag and take one out and about, and it would be lovely to take when travelling.”
The revitalising facial spray is nicknamed a “wake-me-up for the skin” among some five-star shoppers, but others said they prefer Curel’s Deep Moisture Spray, £19.50 at Boots, thanks to the ultra-fine spritz nozzle. It is formulated with refined micro-ceramide particles that penetrate deeply into the skin to effectively improve skin moisture levels.
