The 90p drink women over 50 should have every day to look younger

Ageing happens to everyone and isn’t something that individuals can avoid. However, one kitchen staple could be the key to looking young.

Scientists have found one drink that could keep crows feet at bay and reverse ageing.

According to Chinese research drinking a cup of tea each day has plenty of benefits. Scientists say three cuppas a day is the perfect amount to delay the process of ageing.

In particular black tea is renowned for possible health benefits including improving gut, heart and brain health.

Sichuan University in Chengdu, China conducted the research by using two groups of participants.

The team analysed 5,998 British individuals aged between 37 and 73 and 7,931 Chinese participants aged 30 – 79.

Participants were asked how much tea they drank per day and which type of tea these included green, black, yellow or oolong.

Scientists then looked at several age markets such as cholesterol, blood pressure and body fat percentage to determine the participant’s biological age.

The authors of the study said: “The exposure-response relationship suggested that consuming around three cups of tea or six to eight grams of tea leaves per day may offer the most evident anti-ageing benefits.”

Researchers found polyphenols, an ingredient in tea, contribute to anti-ageing benefits. Polyphenols are a bioactive substance in the drink and are found to influence the gut.

This can impact age-related shifts in metabolism, immunity and cognitive function. Let’s not forget that tea is full of antioxidants.

Antioxidants can protect the skin from being damaged and slow down ageing.

Despite, scientists not specifically mentioning which tea, the study found hardly any difference in ageing between UK black tea and Chinese green tea enthusiasts.

People can get their hands on black tea from Tesco for £1.25 for 80 tea bags. This works out to 1.5p per drink.

Brits can also buy black tea from Asda for 90p for 50 tea bags, which is 1.8p per drink.
