Many Britons may have already planned their Christmas food deliveries with the supermarket of their choice, while others will wait to visit their local store closer to December 25.
Tesco shoppers banking on the latter may have even saved Clubcard points to redeem for the special occasion.
Loyalty card holders, 23 million households in the UK, can rejoice knowing their money and points will go further than last year when shopping at Tesco starting next week. The supermarket giant has unveiled a great-value Christmas dinner that costs less than last year.
The retailer has announced that from Friday, December 19, Tesco shoppers can feed six on Christmas Day for just £1.84 a person thanks to Clubcard Prices.
New food prices have been applied to all staples: turkey, root vegetables, spuds, and Yorkshire puddings.
Tesco is reducing the price of small, fresh turkeys by an impressive 40 percent – to just £3 a kilo with a Clubcard.
The scheme will also see carrots and parsnips sliced to just 15p a bag while sage and onion stuffing is reduced to 40p for Clubcard holders.
Other Christmas Clubcard Prices in Tesco stores include half-price across a range of Finest mince pies and better-than-half-price Clubcard Prices on beef, pork, gammon joints, and whole salmon sides.
It means dinner for six costs just £11.05 – 25p a person, cheaper than in 2023 when the equivalent deal was £2.09 per person (a reduction of nearly 12 percent).
What’s more, a £1.50 savings is enough to pick up a half-price six-pack of Finest mince pies at Clubcard prices.
The products included in the Christmas Dinner offer are available in most large Tesco stores for customers with a Clubcard from December 19 until Christmas Day (December 25).
Tesco Chief Commercial Officer Ashwin Prasad commented: “We know that every little really does help at this time of year, and, with the traditional Christmas Dinner at the heart of celebrations across the country this December, we were determined to deliver our customers truly great value on the turkey and trimmings, even compared with last year.”
