Squid Game 2 fans find Google ‘Easter Egg’ game they ‘can’t stop playing’

Netflix’s Squid Game 2 came out on Boxing Day, and people are already obsessed with it, with some already having finished it after binge-watching, asking, “what the f**k was that ending”.

Viewers of the new series will be transported back to the island where the games are played, and desperate people are brutally murdered as they hope to win the prize money from the somewhat sinister golden piggy bank.

Of course, players are given the opportunity to opt out of the games on a majority vote, but as is the human condition, many players truly believe that they will be the ones to survive and cash in the 45.6 billion won prize, which works out at just under £25m.

That isn’t the case, however, and many players will die along the way in pursuit of a better life. Considering how sad the premise is, the second series already has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 90%.

One reviewer wrote: “Season 2 is smart, provocative and twisted. It deepens characters, steps up the action and moves the story forward while retaining the first season’s dark absurdity.”

Fans of the show have taken to X, formerly Twitter, to share an ‘Easter Egg’ game that you can play on Google, with some admitting they don’t know how long it’s been there, but it seems to be a recent addition.

“Guys, guys, guys! Google did something. Go and search for ‘squid game season 2’ I don’t really know if this was already there since 2021 but I have seen it for the first time today,” one excited fan penned.

If you type in ‘Squid Game’ to the search engine, a card comes up at the bottom of the screen, just like the one seen to recruit players in the series.

If you click it, you will be faced with the ‘Red Light, Green Light’ game, and you are tasked to get six players across the finish line successfully without getting eliminated by the creepy doll.

You’ll have to be on the ball, though, as the doll doesn’t necessarily turn around when she’s finished singing the infamous song.

Taking to X, someone wrote: “I can NOT stop playing this Google Squid Game”.

Another even posted a spoiler that if you manage to get all six players across the line without getting caught, you’ll be greeted with the golden piggy bank so you can celebrate your win.
