Skeletal dog is now unrecognisable and ‘living best life’ after rescue

A skeletal dog has undergone an astonishing transformation after being adopted into a loving home.

Before and after photos of Mr Flowers have gone viral on Reddit’s r/BeforeNAfterAdoption forum, where a member of the family who welcomed him explained how they were alerted to his plight by a friend at Fluff Animal Rescue in Florida, US, where he was in desperate need of care.

“He is now the most loved dog in the entire world and goes on daily outings to the tennis club with my dad,” they shared. They added that Mr Flowers now gets “unlimited treats” and “as many neck scratches as he wants”.

The initial images of Mr Flowers are heart-wrenching, showing his emaciated frame and prominent ribcage. Yet, recent pictures display a happy, healthy dog with a shiny black coat.

WARNING: Some may find the images below distressing…

A TikTok post from Fluff Animal Rescue back in September described how Mr Flowers gained 4lb in one week after being fostered. They said he was “thriving” and “living his best life” in his new home.

The Reddit community has been deeply moved by Mr Flowers’ story, with hundreds upvoting the transformation and leaving comments praising the rescue. One person commented: “Those first pictures are so sad. Looks like an awesome pup!”

Another said: “Thank you for saving this baby. I’m sure he will never forget how you changed his whole world.” And a third said: “This made me so happy.”

This comes after a canine behaviourist issued a serious warning concerning two particularly popular dog breeds, shedding light on the “problem behaviours” he encounters. Will Atherton, who has more than 900,000 followers on TikTok, explained how people inundate him with questions about their dogs every day, so he wanted to highlight the breeds that seem to be causing the most issues “right now”.
