Princess Kate delivers ‘masterclass’ in sustainability as royal flaunts ‘hallmark’ | Royal | News

The Princess of Wales was hailed by a style expert for her ability to promote sustainable fashion choices through her stunning outfits at official royal events.

Princess Kate made two major appearances for the Firm this week – she took part in the official Qatari state visit on Tuesday and also hosted her annual Together at Christmas Carol service on Friday.

On both occasions, the future Queen opted for recycled items in her wardrobe that she’s previously worn before with slight adjustments.

On Tuesday, the fashionable mum-of-three donned a stunning burgundy coat by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen from a past season, while on Friday she opted for another coat by the same designer in a striking red colour that she first wore all the way back in 2018.

Now a fashion specialist praised the princess and claims she never fails to deliver a “masterclass in trend-conscious yet thoughtful and considered dressing.”

Megan Watkins, Head Stylist at SilkFred, told the Express: “Princess Kate’s burgundy ensemble [on Tuesday] is a masterclass in trend-conscious yet thoughtful and considered dressing.

“The burgundy coat dress designed by Alexander McQueen is timelessly elegant, with its structured shoulders and impeccable tailoring creating a silhouette that is both formal and feminine – Kate’s forte.

“Recycling her accessories, including the pearls and the matching Sahar Millinery beret, showcases her sustainable approach to fashion and admiration of classic pieces while proving that these items can be styled to feel fresh and modern.

“Pairing the late Queen’s pearls with this season’s hottest colour – burgundy – strikes a perfect balance between staying stylistically relevant and remaining true to her sophisticated style, that we know and love.”

On Friday, the princess’s look was very similar to the one she wore in 2018 and 2020 consisting of the red coat, a red tartan maxi skirt, black boots and a black top.

Ms Watkins added: “She effortlessly combines royal tradition with contemporary fashion cues—a hallmark that has earned her admiration worldwide.”
