People baffled after learning ‘correct’ way to use dressing gown

As the winter chill sets in, many of us are reaching for our favourite cosy dressing gowns. Whether it’s a new Christmas gift or an old reliable, these soft comforts are perfect for keeping warm.

However, it seems we’ve all been tying our dressing gowns incorrectly. Allison Veer left viewers stunned when she revealed the correct way to fasten a robe on TikTok.

She admitted: “I was in my 40s when I found out how you’re supposed to tie a robe.”

Most people thread their dressing gown belt through the loops and tie it at the front, but Allison insists this is incorrect.

Instead, she advises holding the belt in front of you, wrapping the robe around your body, then threading the belt through the loops from the front before tying a snug bow.

This method cinches the front of the gown perfectly. “I’m living by this now,” Allison declared. The revelation left viewers shocked. One said: “The way my jaw just dropped and stayed open for the duration of this video.”

Another confessed: “I’ve worn my dressing gown every day for the past eight years and not once did it occur to me to do this.”

Others agreed that this was a game-changer.

One user exclaimed: “Okay but like it makes so much sense. I feel like it was so obvious and we all just missed it.”

“I’ve always tied mine like this,” added one other.
