Videos recorded by New Orleans terror suspect Shamsud-Din Jabbar revealed he once considered an equally horrific crime: murdering his entire family. That’s according to law enforcement sources who spoke with ABC News, CNN, and others about the clips, which were reportedly taken by Jabbar as he drove from his Texas home to New Orleans before killing 15 New Year’s Eve revelers in Louisiana early Wednesday morning. Jabbar said his initial plan was to lure his loved ones to a “celebration” where he’d then kill them, reports said. He reportedly had a change of heart after a dream told him to join ISIS, however, and said in the clips that he then ditched his plan. Jabbar served in the military for over a decade, which included a deployment to Afghanistan for most of 2009. Little has been confirmed about his personal life, but records show that the 42-year-old was divorced twice and had financial struggles recently, including being $27,000 behind on his mortgage as of 2022.
