Next’s ‘gorgeous’ burgundy ‘coatigan of dreams’ is perfect for autumn

Now that the weather has turned colder and the days shorter, we’re all reaching for our favourite snug coats, plush cardigans and cosy jackets to keep us warm during the autumn and winter months. High street favourite Next is offering the ideal garment that merges the comfort of a cardigan with the robustness of a coat, aptly named by the retailer as the ‘coatigan of dreams’.

This stylish burgundy piece will not only keep you cosy during the colder seasons but also ensure you look stylish. Retailing at £45, the belted coatigan is crafted from a soft fabric and boasts a flattering design due to its chunky belt that accentuates the waist.

The coatigan comes in sizes XS to XL and is available in petite and regular fits. It features handy patch pockets for storing your essentials or providing a warm refuge for your cold hands.

The versatile coatigan can be paired with jeans, trousers, skirts or dresses, making it a useful addition to any wardrobe. Team it with trainers or sturdy boots for a casual yet sophisticated look, or dress it up with heels for an evening event.

The trendy burgundy shade might not appeal to everyone, so Next has also made the coatigan in a lighter grey shade. As it’s a new item, there are currently no reviews on the website, however, many of the brand’s followers were quick to praise the garment when it was recently unveiled on social media.

On Instagram, Next showcased the coatigan hanging elegantly with a pair of matching burgundy heels placed beside it. The caption simply reads: “This coatigan… That is all.”

In the comments section, one admirer penned: “Oh I looooove [fire emoji].” Another added their praise: “This colour [heart emojis].”

On Facebook, Next posted the identical image with the words: “The coatigan of dreams.” The post has garnered over 300 reactions, and numerous people have tagged their friends to draw their attention to the chic item.

One follower commented: “Love that colour.” A second said: “Gorgeous.” Another added: “Beautiful.”

To date, there hasn’t been any direct feedback – good or bad – from customers who have bought the new coatigan. It should be noted though, that the coatigan doesn’t have buttons or any fastening aside from the belt, which could potentially come loose.

Interested in adding the burgundy belted coatigan to your autumn and winter collection? You can purchase it from Next here for £45.

For those looking for alternatives, Debenhams is offering a similar Wallis Short Belted Wrap Coat at a sale price of £76. New Look has a Mink Short Belted Coat for £47.99.
