Morrisons ‘Meal Deal’ costs £197 and includes 10 pints of beer

A shopper was gobsmacked to find Morrisons offering what could be the priciest “Meal Deal” ever for a whopping £197 – and it includes a massive keg of beer.

TikTok user @cosgrove captured footage inside his local Morrisons that featured a 6L (around 10.5 pints) keg of Camden Pale Ale, typically priced at £32.50 but bizarrely packaged as part of a “Meal Deal” for nearly £200.

Comically perplexed, he commented on the footage: “They’ve got these £200 kegs as part of a meal deal… what kind of meal deals do they have at Morrisons man.” He added in the caption: “Morrisons meal deals go hard.”

Those who scrutinise the price label closely will be able decipher the actual contents of this unusual meal deal.

It turns out, alongside the beer keg, customers would also take home a “Perfect Draft Machine” – not your typical sandwich or snack combo.

The Perfect Draft Machine allows people to sip on pub quality draft pints from the comfort of their own home.

The product description on the company’s website states: “Say hello to the most streamlined at-home beer dispenser ever. The PerfectDraft Black Machine boasts all our essential features like 12-hour cooling and serving at 3C with simplicity and ease of use at the heart of a revamped design. With a sleek, matte black finish PerfectDraft Black is a stylish blend of form and function.”

There are more than 40 different kegs available for the device, which promises to keep beer “fresh and carbonated” for up to 30 days. The company also runs a free empty keg return scheme, and customers get £5 credit for each empty keg returned.

Reacting to the video on TikTok, one user joked: “Have your meal deal and back to the office.” Another said: “My type of meal deal.” The video has been viewed more than 110,000 times.
