Prosecutors in Argentina released results from an autopsy and toxicology report conducted on Liam Payne, revealing new details about the One Direction singer’s tragic death. Payne, 31, was found dead after falling from a hotel balcony in October. In a statement released on Thursday, prosecutors confirmed the singer was under the influence of alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription antidepressant at the time of his death. The autopsy indicated he died from “multiple trauma” from his fall from a third floor balcony, as well as “internal and external hemorrhaging.” Self-harm and “physical intervention” from another person were ruled out, prosecutors said, but also noted that Payne was likely “not fully conscious” during the fall. Investigators also said they analyzed Payne’s electronic devices, records of guests at the Buenos Aires hotel, and over 800 hours of video footage before formally charging three individuals for crimes related to the “What Makes You Beautiful” singer’s death. One person was charged with abandonment, while a hotel employee and a third individual were both charged with supplying Payne with narcotics. Meanwhile, Payne’s body was finally released to his father, Geoff Payne, to return to his native U.K., the BBC reported on Wednesday.
