A good haircut can do wonders, with a fresh style having the ability to make people look younger, brighter, and even slimmer.
There is rarely a one-size-fits-all hairstyle, as different textures, such as curls, frizz, and waves, make it difficult to find a style that looks good on everyone.
However, according to celebrity hairdresser Jason Collier, former stylist to Victoria Beckham, Eva Longoria, and Sienna Miller, there is one style that can suit all textures and ages.
Speaking about the hair trends set to be big in 2025, the stylist and key opinion leader at Jerome Russell Bblonde said that 70s layers “suit almost all hair textures.”
“2025 is all about shaggy layers, curtain bangs, and textured waves inspired by ’70s rock icons,” he said.
“This trend blends modern elegance with vintage nostalgia, and suits almost all hair textures, from straight to wavy. It’s all about root boost sprays, and thickening mousse to get the look.”
Another trend the stylist predicts to be big this year is buttery blondes, which he claims will be the shade of 2025.
“Buttery blonde will be THE shade of 2025. Think of a soft, warm blonde shade with golden undertones that add depth and dimension to strands, making it perfect for a natural yet illuminating finish.
“It’s ideal for anyone looking to brighten their appearance without venturing into a dramatic colour shift. Try a colour bomb to get the look at home without any hassle or mess.”
Jason also says the bob will be a “firm favourite” for 2025, with the sleek or voluminous, natural-textured styles gaining on their 2024 popularity.
What’s more, he predicts “sleek glass hair” to be a hit this year. “The polished, high shine ‘glass hair’ look is set to make a huge comeback for 2025, and is perfect for those who prefer a modern, minimalist aesthetic. Serum and heat protectant at the ready,” he said.
And bold colours are back, claims the stylist. “Vibrant hues and soft pastels are in, alongside warm, muted tones like natural auburns. These shades provide opportunities to play with both daring and subtle looks, with something for every taste – 2025 is the year of personalisation,” he said.
