Five Chinese zodiac signs will ‘attract deep luck’ this Christmas

Some Chinese zodiac animals will fare better than others this week, between December 23 and 29, but only if they play their cards right.

Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year, begins on the first new moon of the lunar calendar and ends on the first full moon 15 days later.

The year from January 29, 2025, is the Year of the Wood Snake, which could change the dynamics after a notoriously prosperous Year of the Wood Dragon.

According to Valeria Black, an intuitive tarot card reader, spiritual guide and astrologer, “luck and success” can be expected for some thanks to the I Ching hexagram of luck – “Mountain over Mountain”.

She said: “You will find luck faster when you turn your gaze inward or look at the tiny details in and around you.”

Luckiest Chinese zodiac signs this week

1. Ox

Familial relationships should be nurtured by those born in Years of the Ox (1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, and 2021), urged the astrologer. Enjoying quiet moments amongst the gift-giving is important, as is reserving energy and love exclusively for spaces where the love already exists.

This will attract good fortune for the Ox, as will the colour blue – particularly in the form of shoes.

2. Horse

Spending time with loved ones could result in good fortune for people born in Years of the Horse (1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002 and 2014). Luck attracted by the Horse is “deeply entwined” with friends, says Valeria, who said that “treasuring them” will invite luck in obvious and unexpected ways this week.

As for lucky charms, blue and green are considered good signals as December draws to a close.

3. Rat

People born in Rat years, including 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, and 2008, should look to the next phase of their lives, particularly their desires. Valeria suggested “grounding your wishes into something concrete” instead of leaving them to your imagination.

She says that doing so will ensure luck flows where it needs to go the most and will benefit you in 2025. Seek red and gold, which will embody good fortune for those born in the Year of the Rat.

According to the astrologer, writing on golden charm paper and placing it in a red envelope is a worthwhile practice this week. But be sure to keep it in a “secret place”.

4. Rabbit

If you were born in the Year of the Rabbit (1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, and 2011), Valeria encourages you to find common ground with people you meet and lead with “love and kindness” this week. Unexpected sources of good fortune may appear mysterious at first, but you may be intuitive enough to see the signs as luck comes to you.

Three colours—blue, green, and red—will be lucky for Rabbit signs this week, and Valeria said eating red fruits is considered a surefire way to “boost your luck.”

5. Rooster

Focusing on education and expanding knowledge will pave the way for the Rooster’s luck this week.

The astrologer said: “Find a way to balance socializing with how you want to grow more knowledgeable. That’s how luck and success are attracted to you.”

Good fortune can be sought in the colours blue and green this week, and you can also place blue flowers on your work desk to invite more luck into your life.

Years of the Rooster include 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, and 2017.
