Best for active owners, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen is described by the American Kennel Club (AKC) as “confident, happy and extroverted” who are super “willing to please” their owners.
Perhaps more well known is the gorgeous Beagle, who were originally bred for hunting. These lovable pooches are known for their “merry personalities” and make a loving companion.
Then there’s the “exceptionally smart and active” Poodle that comes in three different sizes: the Toy Poole, the Miniature Poodle, and the Standard Poodle.
Whichever size Poodle you may have, the breed has topped the charts as one of the most friendliest and lovable breeds to have.
Even the protective Boxer dog has made the list as one of the most loveable dog breeds. The AKC said: “A notable characteristic is their desire for human affection, especially from children.”
The cute Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has also made the list because of its “sweet, gentle nature”. The AKC added: “This friendly breed, bred to be companions to people, also makes a great therapy dog.”
Another family labourite is the Irish Settler which has a “clown-like” personality and lots of energy to bring laughter to the home.
Also making the list is the friendly Pembroke Welsh Corgi that “responds well to training, and loves their family”.
The last two pooches considered one of the most lovable dog breeds around are the Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Boston Terrier.
Both part of the Terrier family, little terrors they are not; instead, they are lovely companions who love to stay by their owner’s side.
