Bikers rave over electric heated gloves that keep hands warm for hours

Bikers and cyclists are raving about a pair of electric heated gloves that “block out the cold for hours” when they commuted in harsh weather. The £59.99 pair can be bought from EJOY on Amazon and is rechargeable with three temperature settings, offering a maximum of five-hour battery life.

Made from warm and cosy fleece material and splash-proof fabric outside, they are durable and soft on the palm. The battery pack covers the entire back of the hand, fingers and the fingertip is sewn with touch sensor so it allows you to use your smart devices without the need to remove them in the cold.

There’s also an adjustable wrist strap and drawstring closure to block the cold air out. With the lowest (coldest) setting, the gloves can warm up to 40C and the highest (hottest) setting, it goes up to 65C. There is even a light to indicate the battery level and sizes available are Medium, Large and Extra Large.

Shoppers will have to measure their palm and go one size up if they are in between sizes. One shopper said it’s a life saver and explained: “I bought these for work in a cold warehouse with temperature going under 5C under winter. I use the lowest heat setting which lasts over four hours and it’s lovely and warm. It’s worth buying a second set of batteries so you can use the gloves all day.”

One cycling enthusaist said the gloves “made cycling in the cold possible”, she added: “I bought these to use whilst winter cycling. I was a little sceptical but I take it all back. Only used twice and my hands have been warm. They are bulky but I could fully control brakes and gears on a flat bar bike. I think a drop handlebar would be quite difficult due to the bulk.”

Out of the 66 ratings received on Amazon, more than 60% people gave a five-star rating but some said “if only the gloves can be washed”.

One was not happy about the weight of the gloves, saying: “The battery is on the wrist, so a bit heavy. Hard to do any work with hands as gloves are big and bulky. It warm the back of hands and fingers, not palms.”

The EJOY electric heated gloves are £59.99 and only come in black. A high-end option would be the Filby Waterproof Heated Gauntlet, £190, which has a premium goatskin leather palm for excellent grip after continous wear. It comes with a power reserve of six hours, provides long-lasting warmth in freezing conditions. The gloves allow the wearer to choose between three levels of heat control, ensuring adaptability to temperature.
