Arrest made after missing teenage LI girl found on boat

Suffolk County Police told the Daily News Monday night there “was an arrest made in the case” of a missing 14-year-old Long Island girl rescued from a boat outside Islip where she’d been held for weeks.

The suspect owns the boat where the teen was held captive since Dec. 13, according to Pix 11, which cited unnamed  sources. That unidentified man was reportedly arrested Friday when the teen was located. Pix11 reported he’s charged with kidnapping, rape, and child endangerment.

The victim’s father said his daughter disappeared from their Patchogue home Dec. 9 after going outside shoeless to retrieve something from the driveway. On social media, the dad said he’d spent several days looking for his daughter before getting a tip leading him to the boat where she was being held.

“I did bust into the boat and recover my daughter,” he said, giving few details. “I did clear the boat.”

According to the worried dad, no one else was aboard that boat when he arrived, but he indicated there were “guys involved” in likely forcing her to things that were sexual in nature.

In a Facebook post on Monday,he said a 65-year-old man from Islip was in custody in connection to his daughter’s case.

The father and daughter had been identified by their full names before it was alleged she was a victim of a sex crime. He said his daughter is getting help at an undisclosed facility and has “a long road of recovery” to begin.

Police directed all further questions to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. They couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
