Jimmy Page’s blunt ultimatum after ‘intense’ 7 hour Led Zeppelin movie meeting | Films | Entertainment

It takes a hell of a lot to get Led Zeppelin back together for a reunion.

And while the band’s recording and live music days are over, they have now reunited on a new movie.

Becoming Led Zeppelin is the first authorised documentary film about the band featuring Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones as talking heads.

Yet getting these rock gods together was no easy feat according to filmmakers Bernard MacMahon and Allison McGourty.

In a new behind-the-scenes video clip, McGourty shared: “That very first meeting we had with Jimmy Page was quite intense. It was a seven hour meeting.” MacMahon explained: “He just wanted to know how thoroughly we knew the subject.” And then came the news that guitarist was on board, but only on one condition.

McGourty shared: “We got a phone call from him out of the blue [and he said,] ‘It’s up to you to get the other guys on board.’ MacMahon added: “That’s really the Zeppelin way.”

Becoming Led Zeppelin is exclusively in IMAX on February 5 and 6 and in cinemas everywhere from February 7.
