When it comes to food, eggs are a great staple.
You can eat them with most meals in some form, and they’re super good for you, as well as being delicious. But, when it comes to frying them, some people find the cooking process easier than others.
Luckily for us, we don’t have to worry anymore, as a cooking expert has shared what we need to do to get it right. According to Chef Kelly Scott, known as kellyscleankitchen on TikTok, there are four ways you can do it – depending on how you like your eggs.
If it’s foolproof eggs you’re after though, she has a simple trick – you just need to add one simple ingredient to the pan. This will help your eggs come out perfectly every time.
According to Chef Kelly, fried eggs should always be cooked in butter. So rid your oils for this recipe, as one thing will ensure your eggs cook nicely.
Chef Kelly said: “For all four of the fried eggs, we’re going to go into a non-stick pan with butter and, once that’s frothy, drop the egg in. Always cook your fried eggs over a medium to low heat, because we’re not going for crispy edges.
“For sunny side, just cook until the whites are set, and then remove. The yolk should be runny.
“An over-easy fried egg is that, but then you flip it and cook it for 10 seconds on the other side. The third kind of fried egg is an over-medium fried egg.
“For medium, you flip it and then you cook it for one minute on the opposite side. This creates almost like a jammy yolk instead of a runny yolk.
“Lastly, if you’re going for an over-hard fried egg, you’re going to flip it and then you’re going to crush the yolk. This will ensure the yolk is completely cooked through.”
Since the video was shared it’s been viewed over 100,000 times, and people were quick to comment. Hundreds chimed in with their thoughts and opinions.
One person said: “A good cook knows there are more than four ways to cook a fried egg.” Another wrote: “I always put a lid on to steam them, and cook the egg white on top of the runny egg. I hate that bit raw.”
A third replied: “Jammy yolk, but I also like a runny yolk. I need my whites cooked.”
Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: “I order over-medium, but no one ever gets it right. The best you can hope for is cooked whites.”
