Park in tight spaces with ease with driving expert’s 4-step method

Many drivers are reluctant to admit it, but parking can often be a daunting task.

Whether it’s due to infrequent practice leading to rusty skills, a fear of tight spaces or a general anxiety around parking, it’s an issue that many face. However, there’s no need for concern anymore, as a man has come forward with a fantastic three-step guide that promises to make parallel parking easy for anyone.

The instructional video, posted by drivingschooltv0 on TikTok, lays out the method clearly, showing that once you understand the correct angles and when to turn the wheel, it’s not so difficult after all.

In the video, the driving guru instructs: “How to parallel park into tight spaces. Get the back of your car in line with the back of the car you’re parking against.

“Check around, steer all the way to the left. When you can see the pavement-side lights of the car behind you, turn right and straighten up your wheels.

“When the back of your car connects with the kerb then steer fully to the right. Straighten up and you’re done.”

The clip has since amassed over 6,000 views, and viewers have been eager to share their thoughts on the straightforward parking technique.

One viewer commented: “That’s a better way. My first instructor showed me the 121 method – I never got it.”

Another wrote: “I’ve got my test soon, and parallel parking and reversing into a bay I’m packing about. I can’t do it.”

A third chimed in with: “Thank you for this. A lot faster way to do it as a newbie driver.”

The RAC notes that parallel parking allows drivers to fit into tighter spots, unlike driving straight into a space, which often requires two empty slots side by side. By skilfully reversing, you can maximise the use of a single available space and, at times, parallel parking may be the only option to squeeze into a spot.
