Halfords launches Black Friday sale with £80 off bike and ‘excellent’ tool set

For all things garages, Halfords is the go-to for millions of motorists, cyclists, and tinkerers in the UK. Whether you’re in the need of some wiper blades, a tool chest, a bike lock, or some L plates, Halfords will have you covered.

That’s especially true right now, with the Halfords Black Friday sale now active until December 3rd 2024. With discounts across motoring, cycling, tools, and outdoor gear, now’s a great time to refresh your garage and get your car ready for the winter.

A great offer is on the Carrera Vengeance mountain bike, now £308 down from £385. Featuring mechanical disc brakes, front suspension, a decent gearset and Carrera’s trademark reliability and build quality, this is a great entry-level mountain bike suitable for a runaround or as a gateway to ripping up some trails.

“Purchased this bike to replace my old mountain bike for commuting and light trail biking through nature reserves/, towpaths, etc.,” said one five-star review, adding: “I have been out on it 3 times in varying terrain and delighted with how it has performed. Great value for money.”

Another bestseller is the Halfords 3 Drawer Metal Portable Tool Chest for £22 down from £39. With a capacity of 9kg per drawer, this is a quick, easy, and comprehensive means of organising your tools in a longlasting chest. “I bought this toolbox to make up a spare grab and go toolkit,” said a four-star review. “It’s a decent size for my needs, holds everything I need and with the drawers allow me to keep similar tools together.”

If tools are on the agenda, this 12-piece ratchet set for £48 down from £60 comes with a lifetime guarantee and will cover all ratcheting needs. For something even more comprehensive, this 175-piece socket set for £178.50 down from £255 is a steal.

“This seems excellent value for money,” said a five-star review for the socket set. “The sockets seem very well-made and with lots and lots of bits. The ratchets supplied seem good and from my limited use to date work well.”

With such a large set, there are some drawbacks. The four-star review added: “Only concern is the overall weight of the kit, it’s clearly very comprehensive but having these many tools in the single kit makes it very heavy to carry around so might be worth keeping it on a trolley or tool station.”

Another customer said: “I had a small issue with the T20 bits as they’re not secure in the tool box and move around, so I have to reorganise it each time I open the box.”
