Boy, 17, shot to death on violence-plagued Bronx block

A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in the back about two blocks away from his Bronx home — and just steps away from where a teen was slain in 2022 and a young boy was shot and wounded last year.

Xavier Navarez was shot multiple times in the back about 7:45 p.m. Saturday on Oak Terrace near Beekman Ave. in Mott Haven.

Medics rushed him to Lincoln Hospital but he couldn’t be saved.

Xavier was shot just yards away from where a group of masked gunmen shot 17-year-old Jordany Aracena to death on Sept. 25, 2022.

Jordany was an aspiring drill rapper and police sources said at the time cops believed he was killed in retaliation for his lyrics. A 17-year-old suspect was arrested for the shooting days later.

On Sept. 12, 2023, an 8-year-old boy was shot in the leg as he was stepping off a school bus on on Beekman Ave. near E. 141st St. A witness told the Daily News he stepped into the crossfire between two warring shooters. The boy survived.
