Asylum seekers and refugees are always welcome in New York

Recently, I participated in a house blessing at one of our New York City congregations. An Episcopal priest had long occupied the house, but it now sat empty. In response to a growing need for shelter for asylum seekers, leaders in the Episcopal Diocese of New York decided they could offer temporary housing for asylum seekers.
