John Lennon birthday celebrated by Paul McCartney and George Harrison estate | Music | Entertainment

John Lennon’s life was tragically cut short at just 40 back in 1980 and yesterday would have marked his 84th birthday.

Celebrating the Beatles legend on social media was the offical Fab Four account which shared: “This year, we’re celebrating with some beautiful images fans from around the world have created of John.

“Thank you to all the contributors who kindly allowed us to share their art.”

Meanwhile, his eldest son Julian Lennon paid tribute to both his father and half-brother Sean Ono Lennon, whose 49th birthday landed on the same day.

Additionally, Sir Paul McCartney posted a picture of himself performing with an image of Lennon behind him. The 82-year-old simply captioned the Instagram post: “Happy Birthday John. Thanks for being there.”

Meanwhile, George Harrisons estate wrote: “9th October. Two great souls born this day. Sean & John. With love.” And Lennon’s estate paid tribute to both father and son too.
