Black Friday 2024 falls on Friday, November 29, 2024, so it’s well worth making that date on your calendar now if you want to snap up some of the biggest and best deals. But it’s not as simple as waking up on November 29 and heading to the shops, because the deals will start earlier than that.

Although Black Friday officially falls on the last week of November, many brands choose to spread the deals across the weeks leading up to the big day or even run sales for an entire month before the official Black Friday weekend.

With many looking to avoid queues and crowds on the high street, lots of shoppers flock to online stores to make their purchases, so it’s always worth knowing what you’re looking for beforehand, as the most popular items have been known to sell out and may not be restocked before the sale period ends.

The timing is one of the most handy things about Black Friday – many shoppers see it as a chance to tick off their Christmas shopping while saving money in the process.

All deals in this article are accurate at the time of writing but are subject to change – please double-check the retailer page before purchasing.

When is Black Friday 2024?

Black Friday is due to officially kick off on November 29, 2024, with sales lasting for the duration of the weekend. Even more deals will be on offer when Cyber Monday commences on December 2, 2024.

Then, to top it off, many airlines, cruise lines, hotels and holiday brands launch special travel deals on what has become known as Travel Tuesday – taking place on December 3, 2024 this year.

Black Friday has become one of the biggest shopping dates on the calendar, and although there are six weeks to go, it’s never too early to start planning ahead.

The shopping extravaganza has extended into a four-day event, with thousands of products reduced across from Black Friday to Cyber Monday.

Best Black Friday Homeware Deals

Black Friday is notoriously good for discounts on home appliances, kitchen gadgets and home accessories.

Likewise, cleaning products will also be heavily discounted – including vacuum cleaners, mops and other gadgets that can speed up your household chores.

Away from cleaning, it’s highly likely furniture and interior accessories will also be included from big-name retailers as part of the sales event.

Best Black Friday Beauty and Lifestyle Deals

While bigger purchases can come to mind when thinking about Black Friday, beauty deals can actually have some of the best discounts.

Whether you’re shopping for budget buys – affordable brands sometimes drop their prices even further – or you want to take advantage of heftier discounts off more premium products, Lookfantastic, Boots and Charlotte Tilbury are just some of the brands to look out for.

Is it worth waiting for Black Friday?

Black Friday causes such a shopping frenzy, so it’s a good question: is it actually worth waiting for Black Friday to buy? It’s not a simple answer, but there are some very good discounts available on Black Friday for the savvy shopper, that may not be available the rest of the year.

Prices online can fluctuate and it’s often true that just before Black Friday the prices for some items will be at their highest, before getting a big discount for the sales event. The retailer will then claim a big price reduction, even if it’s just a little lower than the normal price.

Planning ahead can help you make informed decisions when the sale event arrives, and being clear on your priorities can help you sift through the seemingly neverending deals and avoid impulse or unnecessary purchases.

Which retailers take part in Black Friday?

While there are several other sale events during the year, including Amazon Prime Day and Boxing Day, Black Friday is one of the largest in terms of the sheer amount of retailers that take part.

The variety of brands that discount their items is vast, so there is likely to be something for everyone, meaning if you’ve had your eye on something to buy yourself, there’s a chance it could be in the sale.

As there’s still a while to go until the November shopping event, it’s unconfirmed which retailers are definitely taking part, however, based on the last few years, amongst the hundreds of brands that take part, retailers have included:
