Bhavjit decided to have a PRP hair treatment in 2020 after almost three years “trying to decide”. She always thought she needed a hair transplant, but after seeing a hair transplant surgeon, he suggested PRP would be more appropriate for her hair loss. However, “the doctor made me really relaxed and I didn’t feel anything”. Bhavjit explained that the treatment was quite “tolerable” and “not very painful”.
She started to notice the difference after her third PRP session and she is now “really happy” with the results.

After the hair treatment, Bhavjit is now more confident than ever. “I feel very happy about how I look,” she said.
“The bald patches have disappeared, there is a lot of new growth, the hair is stronger, the hair is growing longer, and I have more black hairs growing.”
She also feels “so confident without my hairpiece,” and recalled the moment she looked at herself in the mirror for the first time after the treatment: “When I saw the new hair I was overjoyed.”

What is PRP?
PRP for hair restoration is a non-surgical and very effective hair regrowth treatment using the patient’s own blood plasma to stimulate growth, Este Medical Group explained.

Is PRP painful?
Bhavjit explained: “The process was quite tolerable. It was not very painful. I came with a positive mind that I would get the results.”
Bhavjit had three PRP sessions using Medira Cellenis PRP, red LED for 20 minutes after each session and Viviscal Professional tablets for three months.
“The procedure is relatively painless and requires zero recovery time,” explained Everyday Health.
However, “it takes a few months to see results and it can be expensive,” the health site wanted.
How much is PRP in the UK?
Platelet Rich Plasma treatments can cost around £475 per session or £1,275 for a set of three sessions. PRP is not covered by the NHS or private health insurers in the UK.
The treatment is currently very popular due to its incredible results. On the health site Realself, a man who recently had the treatment said: “I recently had a PRP hair treatment service, and I must say I am thoroughly impressed with the results. Now my hair gets thick and slowly covers all the thinning spots.”
A woman who also had PRP injections in the last couple of months explained that her “hairdresser noticed the hair loss was getting worst and that my bald spot had gotten bigger,” and commented that the treatment “has been fantastic”.
