King Charles’s Coronation playlist removes band ‘for anti-royal views’ | Music | Entertainment

The Proclaimers’ hit I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) has been removed by the UK government from the official Coronation playlist. According to the BBC, the move came after the Scottish duo were criticised for their anti-royal views.

Last year Craig and Charlie Reid agree with a republican demonstrator who was arrested for shouting “Who elected him?” during a proclamation event for The King last September. At the time Charlie told the National: “I thought that guy spoke for me, and he speaks for loads of other people. Not just in Scotland, but right around the UK.”
